Peripheral is a device that inputs information to or receives information from a computer system. The normal working flow of a computer system is as follows.

Receives data and commands from the user, processes the data according to  given commands, presents the processed data to the user, and saves or prints the processed data when the user gives a  save or print command.

With the exception of the components that process the specified data, all other components of a computer system are referred to as peripherals.

Simply put, if a hardware component is not a major component and is used  to input information into  or receive information from the computer system, then it is a peripheral device.

The core components of a computer system are the components that control the computer system and process data.

A computer system can function without peripherals, but it cannot function without core components. Examples of core components are CPU, motherboard, power supply, RAM and ROM.

Keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, scanner and USB drive are examples of peripheral devices.

How Many Type Peripheral Computer ?

Peripherals are classified into three types. These types are input devices, output devices, and input/output devices.

An input device inserts data or commands into the computer system. Keyboard, mouse, scanner, barcode reader, digital pen, webcam, microphone are some examples of input devices.

An output device receives the processed data from the computer system and presents it to the user.A monitor, printer, speakers, headset, and projector are some examples of output devices. An input/output device can perform  input and output functions.

A hard drive, USB drive, memory card, tape drive, and network card are some examples of input/output devices.

Other Explain About Peripheral Computer

There are different types of peripheral devices, although they are usually divided into three broad categories: input, output, and storage devices.

Input devices convert incoming user instructions or actions  into actionable information that the computer can interpret.

For example, a keyboard converts keystrokes into characters that appear on the computer screen, while a monitor converts hand movements into cursor movements  that can be used to interact with operating system programs.

Other input peripherals include joysticks, microphones, webcams, optical scanners, etc. Output peripherals translate digital signals into information that  the end user can interpret or use.

For example, a monitor or  screen displays the operating system desktop, while a laser printer translates information stored in a Word file into printed material.

Other output peripherals include speakers, 3D printers, and projectors. Some devices can provide  input and output signals, such as B.

Network interfaces, modems, routers and web cameras. Storage peripherals are used to store and record data and include internal and external hard drives, CD-ROM and DVD drives, and flash  memory drives .

Depending on whether the peripheral is internal or external to the computer system, it can be further classified as  internal or external peripheral device.

An external peripheral device can be connected using many different types of cables and connectors. Today, the most common connection for external peripherals is the USB connection, both because most computers have multiple ports available and because of the simplicity of the connector.

Y-Jugar. Internal storage devices like hard drives are typically connected with a SATA cable, while Display Port and HDMI are the most popular connectors for displays and monitors. tablets, laptops and smartphones.

For example, the webcam, speaker and microphone are built into most smartphones, although the latter cannot be considered  peripheral as it is a core function of any phone.

Similarly, webcams and monitors are built into most laptops, although it is still possible to connect the computer to a larger monitor or higher-resolution webcam.
