The General Instruments chip also allowed players to adjust the difficulty of their games (ball speed, player height and ball angle) on the Telstar.

The Tele-Spiel game was a cassette-based system. and it only came with the tennis cartridge. The tele-game came at a hefty price tag of around €60, with each additional game cartridge  sold separately.

Additional game cartridges alongside an expensive system contributed to the poor sales and unpopularity of  Tele-Spiel. 

For this reason, the first tele-game model was discontinued in 1976 and replaced by better models.

Magnavox Odyssey
